Mallorca: What to do in the Arenal area.

6 activities around El Arenal, Mallorca

Hello visitors! Did you know that a little over a month ago I opened my doors to the public? I am the azuLine Bahamas Hotel, in the Arenal, South-West of Mallorca, near the airport.

The area is amazing being as it is in the bay, from the beach you can see the entire coast up to the city of Palma de Mallorca, which is about 15 kilometres from the Arenal. It all started with an old fishing village that became very appreciated by tourists in the 70s and today it is one of the favourite areas for tourists due to the incredible amount of fun activities you can find!

In order that you fully enjoy your family holidays here are some of the things that can be done around the area:

  • Arenal beach and promenade.

In this beautiful beach of pure white sand, you can walk along with the whole family. Along the promenade, you will find clubs, bars and cafés to suit all tastes. The beach is located between two municipalities, Palma and Llucmajor and is over 4 kilometres long, a good walk! As I mentioned before, when you look to the horizon you can see the city of Palma and also, on clear days, the southern part of the Sierra de Tramontana.

  • Sailing

All the bay of Palma is a very well known area to go sailing, the King’s Cup is held there every year. So you will find quite a number of sailing schools to learn that and many other water sports. Time to get into the water!

  • Royal Yacht Club “El Arenal”

Located at the Sports & Leisure Port it is well known for its good restaurant, bar and sailing school. If you want to come across famous people in Mallorca, then this is the place! 🙂

  • Aqualand

The Arenal’s waterpark, with its vertiginous water rides and games for children, there will be fun for the whole family. Perfect for a hot summer day.

About 5 km from the Arenal, on the way to Palma, you will find this church built in the twentieth century. Well known for the impressive stained glass windows surrounding the entire circumference, on a bright day, the church shines in a thousand colours, it really is beautiful. Nearby, you should also take a walk through the forest that hosts the “Forestalpark” with zip lines and tree top games. And don’t forget to visit the museum which holds a very interesting exhibition on the evolution of tourism in Mallorca.

From the Arenal, you will find several boat trips to different parts of the island, to the famous island of Cabrera – the fifth Balearic island – and to the coast of Tramuntana, an awesome landscape. Shall we go?
