Escape to Ibiza and Mallorca this winter

With winter comes the cold, Christmas and woolen sweaters. We spend the days in the warmth of home, remembering the good summer times and lamenting for all the months that have still to pass until next summer and the days of sun and beach.

Let’s stop for a moment to think about this: Do we have to wait for the summer to take a few days of rest? Does the beach disappear in winter?

The winter

Of course not. The days are colder in winter, but that is not enough reason to not get away with family or friends to Ibiza or Mallorca. Or, why not, take a trip alone to disconnect from the world and connect with the beauty of the islands and their people.

The beaches are enjoyed differently, you can take a long walk while the sun warms your face without beach umbrellas, hammocks, or street vendors. And it’s the best time to do mountain sports such as hiking, trekking or climbing, and discover the most natural and wild side of the islands.

The flights

Normally the biggest impediment to travel to the Balearic Islands during the winter is the absence of flights. But in recent years more and more airlines are betting on the islands for off-season tourism and keep many of their flights during the winter months.

In the case of Ibiza, airlines such as Ryanair, Iberia, Air Europa and Vueling have flights almost daily between the main Spanish cities and the island. From Madrid, Barcelona, Seville or Malaga you can travel to Ibiza throughout the year and at super affordable prices.

Some low-cost companies make it possible to find flights to travel to Ibiza out of season, for less cost than a movie ticket with popcorn.

And, hold on tight, because even if you do not believe it, during the winter there are also direct flights from Ibiza to main European capitals such as London, Amsterdam and Paris, and other important cities such as Milan or Eindhoven.

And if the airlines have opted to keep some of their routes in Ibiza, in Mallorca, there are destinations to practically anywhere in Spain and to almost all European countries.

Large companies such as Iberia or Air Europa and other low-cost airlines such as Vueling Airlines, Norwegian Air International, Ryanair or Volotea, make travelling to Mallorca all year round, from anywhere in Europe, a reality.

If you can get away, do not miss the opportunity to discover Ibiza and Mallorca in a different way. The clean and wild beaches, the colours of the trees and fields vary almost every day and the sunsets in solitude are enjoyed triple. The villages are quieter, there is no traffic or waiting in the restaurants, and the service is more attentive.

Do you still think that travelling to the Balearic Islands is complicated?
